The Hidden Value of Routine Activities
Your goal is to suggest observation and assessment strategies that would hear support the children in your program. You will present your recommendations to your program’s administrative team.
Step 1:
Choose two (2) of the following observation and assessment methods to recommend for use in your program.
Running Record
Anecdotal Record
Development Checklist
Portfolio
Achievement Test or Screening
Rating Scale
Questionnaire
Video Recordings/Photographs
Other (Identify the method or measurement)
Step 2:
Address Each of the two (2) chosen methods from Step 1 by including the following.
a. Identify the name and purpose of the method
b. Describe how an educator would implement the method
c. Identify at least two (2) resource needed to implement the lesson (example: parent support, or time to implement the strategies).
d. Identify at least one (1) potential challenge when using each method
e. Describe at least two (2) reasons why each method would benefit the children, the families and/or the program.
Step 3:
Complete the data for your recommended observation and assessment strategies into a communication piece to present to your program’s administration. Each of the components above must be addressed. You may create a PowerPoint presentation or professional quality document to present your compilation.
