Elephants among many other animals have physical features that many in the black market deem to be very valuable. For the elephants their tusk’s is an item that is widely searched for mainly because the tusk contains Ivory that is very valuable. Individuals in regions such as Africa and Asia are commonly associated with the poaching of elephants. When the individuals acquire the ivory from the tusk, they usually use it for items that are of great value. Surprisingly through my research I discovered that ivory in the tusk is used for manufacturing electronics, ivory is also used for the piano keys, another use for ivory is specialized equipment for airplanes. Besides Elephants that are being illegally poached there are ample other animals, such as tigers, and rhinos, also marine turtles. This act is something that has been progressing for years and many people have taken actions and precautions to prevent it from continuing. There are many rules and regulations that are put in place to prevent as much poaching as possible. The first regulation that was put in place was the law that prohibited any illegal activity in animal sanctuaries. This was put in place because the poaching was habitats specifically for the animals to thrive. the conservationist and the communities took wind to what was going setting laws that put
poachers accountable for their actions was the first step. Because areas such as Africa and
Asia are known for the illegal activities, the law states that anyone who is taking part in these
activities would be fined and they would face several years detained. Conservation organizations
have really taken part in preserving the livelihood of the animals and their habitats. One
organizations that takes part in enforcing the regulations would be. The World Wild Life center
makes preserving wildlife their number one priority they claim to do so by using the best science
available to link on-the-ground work with high-level policy action to create lasting solutions that

I believe their tactics have been very affective the percentage of ivory trade has gone down
drastically, and the amount of poaching as reduced substantially. Another specie that has also
been affected by the illegal trade is sea life such as sharks. Sharks are such as high demand
because of body parts such as their fins, their fins are in high demand in the illegal
fishing market and they are rapidly depleting. With an abundance of help and research from
wildlife organizations and civilian participation there could be increasing amounts of change.

Wildlife Management and Land Use – David Lawson

Hello,
There is so many deer populations because the deer have been allowed to reproduce and eat without
having any predator that feeds on them or leads to a reduction in their numbers. Human activities
and the introduction of laws that barred the hunting on the deer contributed to the increase in
population as they are no longer hunted (Pursell, Weldy & White, 2013). The local communities
are being affected by the deer population because it is leading to more accidents on the roads since
more deer are crossing the streets when people are driving through these areas (Hamill, 2015).
There has also been an increased risk of Lyme disease which can affect the people in the area in a
negatively. A possible solution is to allow for there to be an annual hunting season through which
a limited number of deer are hunted. It would act as a means of controlling the ever-rising numbers
of deer while at the same time not killing too many to make them endangered.
