Graphic Organizers- Graphic organizers are a tool for you to use to be able to get as much out of
the class as possible. They are designed to help you carefully consider the readings and films
discussed. Each is worth 10 points and are due at the beginning of the class period for the unit
that the organizer addresses. Most often there will be a graphic organizer due at the beginning of
each class period. There are three exceptions; Unit 1, Unit 3, and Unit 8 all span a two week
period, so organizers will only be due at the beginning of the period when the unit is first
addressed.
Philosophy of Leadership Paper-This 3-5 page paper will be a closer look at exactly how you
view leadership, what your expectations are of a great leader, and how you might embody those
qualities. After the initial Unit (encompassing the first two weeks of class), you will have had
the opportunity to learn about some great leaders, but also to learn about some aspects of your
personality, values, and beliefs that make you who you are and how you might develop into a
great leader yourself.

Shadow a Leader Project-You will be expected to develop a set of 10 interview questions for
your leader or dialogue points to create the framework for your first meetings discussion. You
will meet with your leader three times. One of which can be, with the leader’s permission, to
observe or shadow the leader at work. Both an oral and written report, analyzing the leader will
include:
Their leadership philosophy
Their vision and goals for the organization
