Religion vs Science: God and Geology God, the Bible, and Creation

Chapters 1, 2, and 3 of the Origins text consider the questions, “How old is the earth?” and “How does this relate to the Bible and particularly, the book of Genesis?” This book does a good job of discussing stronger and weaker points of both science and theology for different ideas that Christians have about the age of the Earth. It is important to study how Christians can hold that the Bible is true (inerrant and infallible), while they hold different positions on the timing, order, and processes that God used in creation. Geology can give us information about the history of how God formed rocks in different places and under different conditions, as we will see throughout this course.
