Dr. Pepper Snapple Group.
A) Strengthening Our Rout-to- Market Through Acquisitions: As I always state multiple
strategies all have an important purpose. And, when ever a business is struggling, it’s
important to cover more than one strategy to make sure the whole system is fully
functional. One strategy I did choose is: Strengthening the firm’s distribution channels
through acquisition. Marketing is very important in every business. And, ways to
strengthen the market for production would benefit the firm. Marketing, and
distribution, gets the products out to customers. So, with a strong marketing, and
distribution strategy, a firm can move mountains. Dr. Pepper Snapple Group may be
facing issues but, competitors have to give them credit for hanging on as long as they
are.
The text states, the brand feels there is room for grown within the brand development. I
agree, because Dr. Pepper Snapple Group distributes more than one kind of beverage. DPS
has a number of different soft drinks that are doing somewhat well in the industry. Brand
development could be a good thing for DPS. I feel, the variety of soft drinks DPS has, kept
them in the business. Secondly, major restaurant chains have chosen to give special deals
with certain DPS beverages included.

B) I think that when it comes their merger, Snapple had a failing merger earlier in the
previous years. You have a stronger company who took on a weaker company at the
time. The ability to merge two companies comes with having the same values and
principles to succeed. With having Triac Companies, the company come up with a
new way to reinvent and innovate the brand. The structure and management greatly
helped this process, because of now the market has become bigger. From going to
producing and selling juice it now has a broader spectrum. Such as soft drinks, other
juices, mixers, and the popular Yoo-Hoo. In order for the company to succeed, the
DPS management company brought in professionals with food and beverage
experience. By them having this experience, it helped expand additional products into
the market. Which has customers in domestic and international regions also. This
starts from the U.S. to Mexico, in addition to over 100 warehouses and over 22,000
employees worldwide. To help with cost of shipping and receiving, they do have third
party company package and distribute their drinks. Their drinks are produced to what
the customers like, with healthier options such as Fiji water. The soft drinks have
been broken down into other categories as well, from no sugar and calories.
One strategic strategy that would have benefited them was acquisition strategies. Before
knowing they were going to fail, the company should have merged before to expand its
operations. This is because the more you expand a brand, the brand comes more exposed.
Since Snapple was already established, growth was needed to increase their revenue. Even
though bringing in another company was farfetched, it helped them develop other strategic
ways to live end up the name. Mergers can be a hit or miss and a company has to really know
what they’re getting into.

2) Business and Society
Good Morning Everyone,
Will the car transition from road to air?
Technology has bloomed with new inventions that surpasses our imagination throughout the
years. For instance the flying cars. I saw the flying cars in the Jetson’s cartoon show and it
was just a science fiction entertainment, and now it is coming to a reality. I am amazed on
how these inventors can come up with these amazing ideas and put them to action. How
traffic will be directed in the skies for these flying cars will be very challenging but I am sure
someone already is working on that idea. Just as man landing on the moon was beyond our
imagination now it is going to be our vacation destination.

3) Solution and Global issue
Feeding the World
This week you learned that though there is, in fact, enough food available to feed the entire world
every day, this is not happening for various reasons. Look at the community in which you live. If
food became inaccessible to your community, how would that affect your day-to-day life? How
would it affect the immediate community?
If food became inaccessible to my community, I have a feeling we would be ok. We live in a
country area that has great soil to grow food. We have tons of farms here and if the need came
about, I am sure we would work together as a community to provide food to each other, with
each other. The day to day life would be a little more difficult because more preparation would
have to go into the meals due to more work having to be done to pick the crops. If the issue was
in a more rural or urban area, they would have more of a problem growing their own food and
this is because they would not have as much land as we do in order to grow those crops.
